Project: Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest

The Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest was founded in 1843 to provide shelter for former mariners. The accomodation provided consisted of a small room and shared bathrooms.

Over four phases, Bolt & Heeks have reconfigured much of the original accomodation to provide a total of 57 ensuite rooms. Additionally, we carried out external renovation works to the front elevation and roof repairs.

We are currently negotiating phase 4b to reconfigure the next tranche of rooms; there will then be a fifth and final phase to convert the remaining rooms.

"credit to Tom [Site Manager]- I found him to be very co-operative and conscientious, he clearly demonstrated that he thinks ahead and cares about the finished article. Hope to work with him again. And, of course, good high-level management from Bolt & Heeks."
