Project: Quebec House

This Grade II listed building in London’s busy Marylebone area was suffering structural damage originally caused by World War II bombing. Bolt & Heeks were engaged to reconstruct the front of this three-storey residential property, using the original bricks together with reclaimed stock, as well as window repairs, fire escape amendments and decorations to the common parts.  Additionally, one tenant took the opportunity of having a new kitchen and bathroom installed whilst we made good other affected apartments.

The property’s position, in a Conservation Area just off the busy Euston Road, provided many logistical problems and precluded a separate site compound.  We used various rooms within the property for welfare provision, had to take in all deliveries by hand and use wait-and-load skips for debris removal, again loaded by hand.
