Project: Hoe Street
Originally opened in 1887 as the Victoria Hall, this Grade II* listed building was a venue for dances, concerts, meetings and plays before being converted, in 1907, to a dedicated cinema and possible of haunt of local boy Alfred Hitchcock.
A century later, Bolt & Heeks were engaged to carry out a full-scale renovation and reconfiguration to create a church, plus a two-storey rear extension. We faithfully restored the interior’s ornate plasterwork and mosaic floor, an interesting feature of the project is the baptism pool on the stage. English Heritage were closely involved at all stages in this project.
