Bolt & Heeks were engaged to extend, reconfigure, refurbish and fit out the kitchen and dining area of this Grade II listed school, which dates back to 1619. The project was programmed in phases to allow the existing kitchen to remain operational throughout the work. The object was to provide a new, covered area where pupils can queue yet be sheltered from inclement weather and construct a single storey extension featuring traditional brickwork and pitched roof to provide enhanced catering accommodation.
The school is situated in a village environment with narrow lanes and residential properties; consequently, we have in place a strict traffic management system to ensure all vehicular access is controlled, safe and does not impinge on the neighbouring community.
"From day one Bolt & Heeks took a proactive approach to the project and worked closely with the client and design team to resolve issues as they arose, often able to offer good advice through experience on buildability."

"The new kitchen and servery is a great asset to the school and we would have no hesitation in recommending Bolt & Heeks Limited."
