Bolt & Heeks were engaged to construct a small, single-storey extension with glazed doors and roof; additionally, we carried out some alterations to the rear atrium reception, including constructing new external steps.
Chester House is a halls of residence for students under the age of 25 and so was fully operational throughout the works, calling for good liaison with the centre manager to ensure neither the students nor the centre staff were unduly inconvenienced during the works.
Chester House is built on an incline; as may be seen from the photographs below, constructing the new extension required us to excavate to a depth of 3m in order to break through to the existing ground floor reception.
